In November of 2016 Miss Emma was waiting to go to a routine vet visit and as I looked at her I thought she is going to be a service dog, but I didn't know of any groups that needed a service dog. Miss Emma went to her vet visit with one of our volunteers who fosters for us and sometimes takes dogs to the vet. While they were gone I picked up a copy of the Essex Reporter that had just arrived and on the front cover was a story about Vermont Paws & Boots a fantastic organization that assists disabled Veterans and First Responders by partnering them with rescue dogs and training them to work as a team. I contacted Michelle LeBlanc who runs the organization, she met Emma, then Emma met her future new father and Emma became our first dog to be donated to Vermont Paws & Boots.
We are honored to be able to find and donate rescue dogs to Vermont Paws & Boots. After attending the Vermont Paws & Boots graduation ceremony in July of 2017, in which two of the dogs graduating had been donated by us to Vermont Paws & Boots, I felt that the dogs and our partnership with Vermont Paws & Boots deserved it's own page on our website.
